Hope House was specially designed in partnership with local commissioners and community teams to create bespoke, self-contained apartments that provide personalised support. The service design is split into two separate elements, based on the residents’ specific individual requirements:

Hope House

Hope House has six bespoke apartments for individuals to live independently. Each apartment has an en-suite, secure kitchenette, living and dining space, as well as access to a communal garden. One apartment has direct access to a specially designed private garden, giving the individual it was created for the quiet outdoor space that is needed.

Hope Lodge

Hope Lodge, next door to Hope House, has one en-suite bedroom and four individual apartments, each with their own kitchenette. In addition to this private space, Hope Lodge has a spacious dining kitchen, enabling the individuals living here to socialise and develop their independent living skills.

Based in Hartlepool, Hope House supports adults living with a learning disability, including individuals who have additional mental and physical ill-health and behaviours that may challenge.

The name Hope House was chosen by one of the gentlemen who moved into the service when it first opened. He said, “I am always hoping for something and always hoped to live in this area.”

Residents are supported to access local community facilities within Hartlepool town centre, which is within walking distance. A few of the community facilities available are colleges, swimming pools, a cinema, shops, a disco, and a gardening club.
